This is an original Japanese poster printed in 1970`s for theatre company "Bungakuza" for the production of "Winter Flower" - it was designed by the acclaimed Kiyoshi Awazu.
Awazu is a stellar figure in Japanese graphic design history. Born in 1929, he is a self-taught painter and graphic designer known for his genre-bending bodywork. From painting to posters and theatre to architecture, his creative passion did not meet boundaries.
This poster is printed on a thick stock high-quality paper. Theatre posters were printed in FAR fewer numbers that movie posters and this one in particular is highly regarded amongst the Japanese and international graphic design community.
This poster is in an excellent condition. There is a faint horizontal line across the poster at the bottom half. There is also some minor edge wear. Once framed, this poster will display excellently. Please refer to the imagery (both front and back) as this is the exact poster that is for sale.
